I'm back in the blogger world!
Wow, this was so easy to do, but so much fun! An enormous thank you to Angela, a.k.a. Slushpile Slut, for hosting this blogfest. Do head over here and check out the other entries!
So I thought I'd post a few titles for my completed, out-on-submission novel, ECHOES, because the title's been bothering me.
The possibilities:
1. Echoes
2. Where She Lingers
3. These Who Linger
Anyone feel strongly about any? Any help would be lovely!
Nope, Echoes is the one. The other two do nothing for me :( I'd pick up Echoes. It has so many different connotations.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of Echoes, but I do like the word linger, but that word evokes a more romantic feel which may not be what you're going for.
ReplyDeleteI like Echoes, but I think Where She Lingers might catch my attention more. It just has more substance, Echoes could mean anything (even though it is a catchy title).
ReplyDeleteWhat about just
ReplyDeleteLinger
Probably hard to beat Echoes tho.
Echoes stood out for me. Stands out among the others. I agree with the Lapetus this one may be hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteHum, none really appeals to me, but Echoes seems really interesting.
ReplyDeleteThey all sound pretty good. Maybe you could combine Echoes and Linger? Like... Only Echoes Linger? Idk... you know your book, so it would be better for you to manipulate the title, lol.

"Echoes" for sure. But as others noted, "Linger" works well by itself, too.
ReplyDeleteWell, I like Echoes, but I really like Linger. Unfortunately I just looked them up on Amazon and they've been used more than once.
ReplyDeleteEchoes Linger has not been done.
Where She Lingers sounds good, too. Like a mystery. Almost sounds like a title Mary Higgins Clark would use and look how successful her books have been. (And no, Amazon has no books with that title)
Thanks, everyone! Echoes seems to be a winner so far, but I think I'm just personally restless with it. And I loved the idea of 'Linger', but like Melanie points out, these are both titles of books already :(
ReplyDeleteSHE WHO LINGERS is my favorite. It is both poetic and mysterious with a hint of danger. But then, that's just me, Roland
ReplyDeleteI like Echoes... Simple with that hint of mystery to cause me to pick up the book.
ReplyDeleteI really likes Echoes...It makes me want to read the back cover. :)
ReplyDeleteI like THESE WHO LINGER...for me, it makes me think mystery, hope and loss...Great choices! Also popped over to say that I've canceled my Cognitive Dissonance Blogfest. Just got too much on my plate - so I've bowed out of my own fest and the others I'd signed up for :( But I just gotta knuckle down so I can get to THE END :D
ReplyDeleteEchoes is a lovely title, or simply Echo. I also like She Who Lingers.

I vote "Echoes" because the word 'linger' reminds me of Maggie Stiefvater. I know she doesn't own that word or anything, but I wouldn't want my title to be associated with anyone else's, you know? That's ultimately why I changed one of mine.
ReplyDeleteHi - Echoes is great! I like it.
ReplyDeleteWhile I like all three choices, my favorite is Echoes. It would be a good title for a fragrance too.
ReplyDeleteEchoes would be my first choice on account of it just being an awesome word, but Those Who Linger sounds pretty amazing, too. I'd definitely pick those two up!
ReplyDeleteThis blogfest is great! It's nice to be able to get so much from everyone so quickly.
I like Echoes! It's different, short and to the point. The others sound like they might be more romance-y than anything else...
ReplyDeleteThx so so much for participating :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, lovee Echoes!! But i also liked These Who Linger...Echoes was a more concrete & succinct word for me and depending on the genre, I would read...but These Who Linger would make me read because it's enigmatic and more thought provoking....Good luck deciding!!
Hi Sangu! I love "Where She Lingers". That has a feel of ghostly mystery--I want to know who she is and why it's so important why she lingers where she does... Great work!!!
