Thanks for this, Elizabeth!
For this fest, I chose a short scene from my completed ECHOES, because so much of the story is about change. In the following scene, my protagonist Echo discovers that she has to give up her entire life as she knows it, and move across the world to replace her identical other.
Enjoy!

This book needs to hurry up and get published - I want to read it all!
ReplyDeleteAw, Alex, thank you! That's the most amazing compliment ever :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, very intriguing! I'd love to read the rest!
ReplyDeleteGrah! Frustrating! : j
ReplyDeleteSo, now that her other is dead, the echo has to take her place... Does she travel alone? Do the people her other was acquainted with know that the other has been replaced with the echo? I've said this before but there are a lot fundamental aspects of this world you've created that I want to know more about. I'll just have to wait. ; j
Wow, well done. Drew me in with it's simplicity and emotion.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was fantastic. Drew me right in. Great entry! I love your blog too.
ReplyDeleteWow - I loved all of this, but the last line in particular. The cadence of the writing was brilliant.
ReplyDelete(And yes, it was an Ambassador!)
I love the voice of it-excellent.
ReplyDeleteSangu, your writing never ceases to amaze me. ;) How chilling that poor Echo experienced her Other's death, and now, to uproot her life to replace her. Great writing. As always! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating! :D (I hope your moving has been pleasant!)
That is intense. Compact enough to do what it needs to do without going overboard. Wow!
ReplyDeleteDitto, ditto and ditto to all the others. I agree this was amazing. I want to read it when it's published, too. Can anyone say ARC?

Great scene! So now she has to go to the 'real world' and take Amarra's place, right? A whole different life, all the while not different at all... Very cool.
ReplyDeletePoor thing. I don't know much about the story, but I ache for her already. She seems to rely on Mina Ma. Well written. =D
ReplyDeleteps. did you know that St Edmund is the patron saint of wolves? ; )
