I cannot wait for THE HUNGER GAMES' movie adaptation! I did a lot of fangirlish gurgling and bobbing when the new trailer was released and I expect we'll see many more teasers before the end of March rolls around.
A couple weeks ago I talked about adaptations, and named some of the (very few) films I believed actually lived up to their books/original material, and I have to admit I'm somewhat worried that The Hunger Games The Movie will not do the book justice. A lot of things/characters don't look at all like I imagined (Gale, Cinna, President Snow) but that was never going to happen, was it? Nothing ever looks like you imagine it in your head. But that shouldn't matter (I hope). It could still be awesome (I hope).
Anyone else looking forward to the movie? Are there any other film releases you think I should be excited about?
I can't wait for The Hobbit, and after Peter Jackson's handling of LOTR, I'm confident it will be beyond excellent.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for the movie. I'm going to go in with the expectation that it will be different and hope I can enjoy it for what it is. It won't be the book because it can't.
ReplyDeleteI'm way excited for the HG adaptation. And I can't wait for the Odd Thomas movie (Dean Koontz book).
ReplyDeleteSuper excited over here as well! Can't wait to hear your thoughts about it.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer is good, anyway. I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Hunger Games. But I, too, am concerned about a few things. There was a lot of pre and post production chatter that the move places more emphasis on the love triangle of Peeta, Gale and Katniss. I'm hoping this isn't the case and that the movie is pulled off well.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely cannot wait for this movie. It's going to be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read the book! I know, I know...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait! I'm prepared to view the movie as a different animal from the book. I'm pretty good at separating books form their movie adaptations and being able to enjoy both. The medium has such a big impact on the story, you kind of have to view them as separate.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I, too, just don't get the Gale casting . . .
I haven't read it either, must try to, I'm in the minority! x
ReplyDeleteI CANNOT wait for Hunger Games. The trailers look great, so I have high hopes for the movie adaptation.
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to Janet Evanovitch's One for the Money, but at seeing the trailer awhile back, I was "Meh." I just don't see Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum, lingerie saleswoman turned spunky bounty hunter. I'll wait for that one to come out DVD maybe.
Oh, and if Jeff Bridges's production company actually gets to make Lois Lowry's The Giver, I'd watch that!
