It's time! Finally! Chances are you're not going to give a hoot about what I'm saying up here, so I'll get straight to the good stuff.
My gorgeous cover.
Are you reading this part already? No, no, go back and take another look. You must. Honestly, my publisher's got me the bestest cover ever. Isn't it beautiful and haunting and don't you just want to stroke it to death? (If the answer is no, don't tell me.)
Okay? Looked at it? Twice? Three times? Now you can read on.
Eva's life is not her own. She is a creation, an abomination - an echo. Made by the Weavers as a copy of someone else, she is expected to replace a girl named Amarra, her 'other', if she ever died. Eva studies what Amarra does, what she eats, what it's like to kiss her boyfriend, Ray. So when Amarra is killed in a car crash, Eva should be ready.
But fifteen years of studying never prepared her for this.
Now she must abandon everything she's ever known - the guardians who raised her, the boy she's forbidden to love - to move to India and convince the world that Amarra is still alive.
"The most honest portrait of grief and loss that I've read in a long time. Filled with heartache, love, and things that would stir Mary Shelley's ghost, this is not a story to be missed."
-Lauren DeStefano, bestselling author of the Chemical Garden trilogy
THE LOST GIRL will be out August 28th, which seems like forever away, but the book is already available for pre-order! A few of the links are below.
Can I just say? I could have fainted on the spot when I saw Lauren DeStefano's blurb. FAINTED. I read WITHER several months ago, not long after it first came out, and loved it so much. It was just the most exciting thing that Lauren read(!) and liked(!!) my book too.
And now for the other part of this post: ARCs. More specifically, an ARC giveaway! A signed ARC, no less. Because, while it will be a wrench to part with one of my shiny copies, I love you all that much.
Yes, one of those!
So, to enter to win, leave a comment on this post, including some way for me to contact you (ideally an email address), and obviously with many, many swoonings over how pretty the cover is. I will pick and announce a winner on April 20th. The giveaway is open internationally.
And this isn't necessary to enter, but it would be very very lovely if you could tweet/blog/somehow get the word out about the cover and giveaway - I'm so excited about this and I just want to show my amazing cover off to the world!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
That's a GORGEOUS cover! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, the cover really is awesome, but the pitch! Wow your story sounds even better!! Congratulations on such an awesome combination. I'm so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteYour book sounds crazy interesting and I love the cover. It's different and interesting and it's not a girl in a gown (which are nice but overdone, IMHO) I'll try to blog about it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat cover . . . is stunning. o_o I just. Um. Wow. I may or may not have been looking at that on and off for the past hour or so. It's just so gorgeous and desolate and perfect for the premise. The shadowing and the colors and the font and just . . . wow. O_O It is, in fact, beautiful and haunting and I want to stroke it to death. (Can ARCs die? I've never tested this.)

I am so glad I decided to drift through the blogosphere for a moment. The cover is brilliant. I admit I'm intrigued with how you came up with this premise. An understudy for a replacement. For a play is one thing, but for real life is rather daunting to consider.
ReplyDeleteWill you have a chance to share with us any special stories behind the spectacular cover art?
Oh and if you want to reach me I'm at tomewriter(at)gmail(dot)com
Haunting is the perfect word for this cover! It's absolutely stunning--one that will definitely pop on the shelf. Congratulations! I can't wait to read this book--that blurb has me hooked!

Oh my squash, your book has a cover. It is a REAL THING. This is really happening. I'm so happy for you, Sangu! And congrats on getting a blurb from a recognisable name and an author you admire. Go you!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the giveaway is international; my email address is on my blog. And I'm so loving the back cover: the premise still rocks my socks.
Sangu, your cover is AWESOME! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cover and congratulations on the blurb. I'm off to tweet about your giveaway.

wow! It looks amazing! Congrats.

Wow, this is so cool and very different from the other covers available right now. I like how the title insinuates that she is not just lost, but almost that her identity has been lost and now the setting has reflected to become her. I haven't read it, so I could be completely wrong. But I like how the cover tells a story in itself.
