I don't want to be twenty-five. I had things I wanted to do and be by the time I turned twenty-five and have yet to do and be some of those things. Write a bestseller. Go to Venice. Meet Jeremy Irons. Be more patient. Ask me if I've done and been those things. Er, no.
You know, maybe I'll just be twenty-two forever. That's right: I'm twenty-two. Plenty of time to do and be all of those things now!
Cake for everyone!
Happy Birthday! I literally laughed out loud at your tags ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Saumya! And ha... I AM weird,
DeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHearing that you're 25 makes me jealous because 1) you've written and published a novel, and 2) you're married with a gorgeous baby boy. Those are huge accomplishments and seem totally daunting and impressive to me. I'm two years younger than you (actually I was lamenting turning 22) and it seems crazy to me that you're already living the dream at such a young age. Screw meeting Jeremy Irons (although, yes, that would be very nice) YOU'VE WRITTEN AND PUBLISHED A NOVEL.
AND YOU HAVE A BABY. I'm not the motherly type but even I know how huge that is. So yes, a very grudging and envy-tinted, but no less heart-felt ;), congrats from me. Celebrate!
Hahahaha thank you! LOVE your comment so much.
DeleteThe baby is awesome. I'll give you that. And the book too. I really have no reason whatsoever to whine! (Still 22, though.)
Happy birthday Sangu!
ReplyDeleteDon't be ridiculous. You've achieved heaps for 25! I hope to have finally finished (let alone published) a novel by then. You should be very proud :)
Thanks, Kezia! I'm sure you'll achieve every bit as much as you hope for by the time you hit 25. (Not that I'm 25. I'm 22... Forever.)
Delete(And I am proud, really. But I sometimes forget that and try to overachieve.)
Happy birthday! Hope it's a really good one :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteHappy birthday! And don't worry 25 is early days. You have loads of time yet. Life is flexible. You may not have accomplished everything you thought you wanted to do, but I bet you've done some things you had never even thought of. We need to explore possibilities that are presented to us, because that is living. Not checking things off a list.
ReplyDeleteGaaaah that's so true! I wish I was better at enjoying things and rolling with them as they come, but I swear my OCC brain sometimes just sees things as a big fat list!
DeleteHappy 22nd (+3 years) birthday! I had a friend who always said she was 18, so I just started adding on the "+." This year she'll be 18(+16).
ReplyDeleteOoooh I am totally going to be like that! Thanks, Jen! :-)
DeleteTwenty-five is a wonderful year! I'm sure Mr. Irons wouldn't even deign to speak to you if you were twenty-two. :P Happy birthday, dear Sangu! <3
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Sangu!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
